I have done extensive research on your family."The Descendents of Jacob Bird-English Mountain pioneer" is almost finished, and details all the children of Lewis Bird.I also have a photo of Jacob and Sena's tombstone. My book will give the first 3 generations of Jacob Bird's eleven children. Here are details on some of his children:
Anderson Bird--served in the Civil War in the third Tennessee Cavalry despite being in his 50's.He sr=erved under famed Confederate leaader, General Natan Bedford Forrest.Twice caputed during battle, lived to be 97.
Lewis Bird--Twice married.Had 13 children by his first wife. She died and at 53 married his 19 year old live-in hoisekeeper.Fathered 9 more children, for a total of 22 known children.Lived to be 84.
John Bird--a soldier in the war of 1812.Lived to be about 96 years old.Srved as postmaster until his death.
Malinda Bird--married John Jack Ivey.Several descendents of this family still reside on English Mountain.
Catherine Bird--married Emanuel Bird, and lived in the Red bank area.
Andrew Bird--served in the Civil War despite being in his 50's.Another man of long years. He had 8 sons and one daughter.Four of his sons migrated to Missouri.
William Bird--married Deliza Derrick and migrated to Benton County in 1838.In 1849 he went to California and returned with a sackful of gold.
