Yes, I think Dave is right--dates will help. I would like to learn more about this family myself, in case it is the family I seek. There was a William, born June 17, 1622, in England and died age 50, 9-29-1672. He came to Charles City Va.(later Prince George County. Residence 1663 Surrey County, Va. Occupation was Miller. He arrived in Virginia in 1635--not far from Westover on the north bank of the James River. (Note: REFN: aMERICA165; & I ask: is this a genealogy.com reference; I have a few things to learn about referencing). His father was William Thomas Byrd, born 1602 Broxton, Cheshire, England; His mother was Elizabeth Grendon, 1605-1610 born London. If my memory serves me correctly she had been married twice before (& just before this to another Byrd who died young. I believe they are relatives of William Byrd (I) of Westover & that Elizabeth was related to the wife of William of Westover's uncle Thomas Stegge. On my notes I wrote "his brother was John" & this may be William of Westover's close relative. Regarding this William, the Miller, I asked: WHO WAS HE MARRIED TO AND WHO WERE HIS CHILDREN. PERHAPS YOU HAVE SUPPLIED THE ANSWER HERE. p.s. the FAMILY WAS BROXTON GOES BACK A LONG WAY AT THAT PLACE, BROXTON, AND I HAVE MORE INFORMATION.
SOURCES: title: BYRD2.FTW REPOSITORY (? AS ABOVE MENTIONED)
BEST WISHES ON YOUR SEARCH, FERN SEEKING FOR ROBERTA BYRD,MY DEAR FRIEND.
