Richard, As far as I know there is no will for Richard 1796.If you have a copy of Tera Byrd Averett's Byrd History - 1978, in the Genealogy report prepared by Dr. Charles Holloman, page XLII - "The best evidence available shows that his father, Richard Byrd (I) died in Lenoir County (successor to Dobbs) sometime between April 9, 1796, and November 8, 1797, as evidenced by two or more deeds passed between members of the Byrd family of Dobbs-Lenoir which are preserved in original copies or certified copies made several years before the Dobbs-Lenoir records were burned."There is no mention of a will for Richard 1796 in any of the material. There is a copy of Richard 1818's will as well as the will of John 1716 (father of Richard 1796).FYI - my line to John 1716 is through Reddin son of Richard 1818.
