Hi Robin,
Here is the only information I have on Clyde Carl Byrd.I called around to some family members today (Maynard Cordell Byrd and his nephew). They were both sure that he was not in WWI because he was in Washington and Oregon raising a family during the war.We mentioned your list of siblings for Clyde Byrd and none of them were familiar. The birth dates you and I have do not match up.But there is still the coincidence of the name Cordell and losing the parents at a young age. They said that Clyde's father was in the Army (but we don't know his name). In the previous e-mail I wrote that Clyde was born in Oklahoma.Actually he was born in the Indian Terratory in Arkansas, around Fort Smith. Clyde was a butcher, did mining in Idaho, and worked for the railroad in Oregon.I can't piece our two Clydes together although there are several similarities. If you have any other ideas on this let me know, I'd like to hear them.If I come up with any new information I'll let you know.Do you have any pictures of Clyde?Maybe we could compare pictures. Thanks and good luck! --Pam
