William Byrd of Sumter had at least two other sons. One was Sutton Byrd who in May 1777 sold Wililam's home place to George Byrd.Sutton acted as William Byrd's son and heir at law, Sumter Deed book EE.The deed was recorded as the Sumter Byrds were preparing to move enmass to MS.The land was part of a grant issued to William in 1766.William died sometime between 1768 adn 1776.
William appears to be the father of Sutton, George, William, John, all of SC and Edward d. 1802 in Duplin NC.I have no idea who the daughters, if any, may have been.Possibly the wife of Bartlet Sanders of Sumter District SC was a daughter. He purchased much of the Byrd holdings when the men moved to MS.
