Unfortunately, several men were named Ebenezer Byram, just as several men were named Joseph Hinds. Two men named Ebenezer Byram are buried in the Hilltop Presbyterian Cemetery. According to the Geron book "Through the Years," the Hinds, Byram, Geron and Kirkpatrick families all moved together to NC. However, they cite no proof and just conclude that their belief is based on diligent studying and reviewing of the records.Better proof would be to find the graves of Ebenezer Byram III and Lydia Geron Byram. According to the Byram book, they are reported to be buried on their own land close to Beaver Dam Creek in Knox County, TN. Another possible source of information may be the John Hinds papers that are being put together in twenty books by Kay Lamb. The originals of these papers are in the McClung Collection in Knoxville but apparently have not been indexed. The Roane County Genealogy Society is planning to print the books for Kay.
If you find out anything, please keep us all posted.
