Why do you think the Murphrees came from Ireland? They might have, but there were plenty of them in the colonies many generations earlier. The Bynums were clearly Welsh who had moved over the border into southwestern England.
People who immigrated later than the early and mid 1600s could have been from anywhere, though. On the Irish question, don't forget that there were a lot of immigrants from northern England who fled the troubles into Ireland in the late 1600s (and others who went to America) who were English.A few generations later, when these families immigrated they were "Irish".
The early Baynham immigrants were, without a doubt, from southwestern England where the name was fairly common in the 1500s and 1600s.In fact, that's the only place the name is found except for a few members of these families who lived in London.
