Bynum Family Genealogy Forum

I just got back from the NGS conference in Raleigh and I found an interesting book at the NCGS booth. It's called Divorces and Separations from Petitions to the North Carolina General Assembly, 1779-1837, by Janet and Ransom McBride, published 2009 by Heritage Books. It's available from the NCGS: http://www.ncgenealogy.org/. The info is taken from petitions to the NC General Assembly that are on file at the State Archives in Raleigh. There are two specific Bynum entries that I found interesting.
p.62, # 215. Farrar, Milly and husband, John. Petition mentions marriage in 1804, and one child. Signed by Thos. Sniper, M. Bynum, Oliver Prince, William Horton, Zach. Harman, Stephen Ellington, Herbert Haynes, Luke Bynum, Tapley Bynum, Ashkenaz Williams, Joseph Williams, Isaiah Riceson, Wm. Bynum, James Bynum. (G[eneral] A[ssembly] S[ession] R[ecords], Nov.-Dec. 1808, Box 2: folder "J[oint] C[ommittee] R[eports] Divorce and Alimony") Act to secure property published in NC Laws, 1808, p. 39.
p.152, # 449. Bynum, Mary and husband, Turner. This is Mary Atherton and Turner Bynum as it says that her "husband has left her and now resides somewhere in the state of Louisiana." (GASR, Nov.-Dec. 1817, Box 3: folder "Petitions - Divorce and Alimony").
Hope someone else finds this useful.
