Marie,
In North Carolina at that time, widows were given use of a portion of the land the deceased owned, along with necessary tools, live stock and usually a year's supply of grain, in order to feed themselves and their children. When the widow died or remarried, the widow's "dower portion" was then divided among the deceased's heirs, or sold and the proceeds
distributed.
So, assuming that Fanny was a widow of a Mr Foscue, there should be such a division or distribution of her Foscue dower
when she remarried, and there should be another distribution of her Bynum dower when she died.

I'd suggest you find the nearest family Histry Center and order these films on Jones County records:
Record of estates (1 unlabeled volume) 1803-1827 FHL US/CAN Film 1759158
Record of administrators, executors, guardians (1 unlabeled volume) 1792-1799 FHL US/CAN Film 1759159

Marie
