Thanks Bob.Keep finding more and more Bynums while searching other lines.Found John Poole Bynum who served in the Civil War with my great grandfather, C. H. Allen.John Poole Bynum, Private, served with the 4th Alabama Infantry Regiment. He was a farmer, discharged, Jackson County Roll, Co. K, Larkinsville Guards.I don't know anything about military, but read today that the 4th Alabama Volunteer Infantry was among the most famous of all.I guess they were in it for the long haul, from one of the first battles to the last one.Seems they were in some of the worse battles, and quite a few killed in battle, more injured/sick, and then there were the ones captured and held prisoners. It seems that my C. H. Allen may have been a prisoner.Trying to track that info down now.Need to read up on war more I guess.Never has been my cup of tea.
