Bob, if we want to get technical about it, we all go back to the cradle of civilization in Africa, according to the evolution classes that I took in school. We, who were born here in the US, call ourselves Americans, are you saying just because we have only been here a few generations that we aren't Americans?
So what if our ancestors had only been in Ireland for a few generations, as far as they were concerned they were "Irish" not English, Welsh, French or any other nationality, where their long ago ancestors might or might not have come from.
It doesn't matter what country my ancestors came from originally, if they were born in a certain country before they came to America, then that is their nationality. Believe me they are a Heinz 57 bunch, but, I'm 100% pure American.
