I am the gggranddaughter of Abraham SR. and Nancy Love Byler. Inthe notes that I have is that on 29 December 1842 there was a deed to James T. Byler which gives more on the family of Abraham Byler Sr."Know all men by these presents that I James T. Byler of the county of Williamson and the State of Tenn., am held and firmly bound unto John Byler, William L. Byler, Jacob Byler, John H. Maxwell guardian of the minor heirs of Elvira Tate Maxwell deceased Thomas Black, Mary L. his wife James P. Smith and Orpha D. his wife in the general sum of seven hundred dollars well and truly to be paid I bind myself my heirs executors and administrators firmly by by the present and the condition of the above litagation is such that whereas the said James T. Byler has this day received of the named John Byler and other legatees of Abraham Byler Decede a certain Negro boy named Frank for the care and protection of Abraham Byler Jr. an idiot. Then this obligation to be void otherwise remain in full force in law and Equity. This 29th day of December 1842.James T. Byler Test. Joseph Light, Noah Putnam"
Abraham Byler married Nancy Love in 1776 and settled in Carter Co., TN.
In 1799 Abraham appointed Sheriff of Carter Co.,TN by Gov. John Sevier. He served until 1806. He died December 17, 1826 in Bedford County TN. I have no history on the son AbrahamJr. other than what the deedhad written in it.
