Sharron - I must apologize. Further examination of two books on BYLER and BEILER has still not revealed the McLEMORE surname. However, I found two entries of modern-day individuals with given names similar to Equilla.
Aguillas BYLER bn 18 AUG 1969 to Adam J BYLER and Nancy KANAGY of PA
Aquilla F BYLER bn 22 FEB 1992 to Daniel J BYLER and Saloma FISHER of NY
Both were descendants of a Jacob BYLER who md Nancy KAUFFMAN
This Jacob was bn 1799 to John (aka Hans) BYLER and Mary DETWEILER
Hans was bn ca 1761 to Christopher/Christian BEILER and Elizabeth YODER
Christopher/.Christian BYLER was a son of the immigrant Jakob BEILER and Barbara (?) Ferona (?) YODER. He is believed to have been either a brother or half-brother of Jacob BYLER of NC.
Although there was enough time between the birth of Hans and Christopher's next child, I believe the latter's family has been well researched, and there is no mention of Equlla or Aquilla as being one of his children. Likewise, there is no indication any members of this branch went to NC.
I want to throw one more zinger at you, and mention that in addition to the immigrant Jakob BEILER and his son, Jacob BYLER of NC, there were reports of a third man living in PA during the late 1800s bearing the name Jacob BYLER.
I have absolutely nothing on that third man, and cannot be certain he even existed. Virtually everyone else being discussed in the BYLER forum on Genealogy.com descended from Jakob BEILER. I wish I could help you and the many others trying to link Equilla/Aquilla to Jakob, but it doesn't appear any such link existed. Best Wishes for success in tracing her correct lineage. -- Jack
