This is a bit of a fishing expedition. Family lore says that Catherine, the wife of my g-g-grandfater, Solomon Shupe (S. Huntingdon Twp) may have been a Byerly. They're both buried in the Hoffman Cemetery near Smithton, PA. I found a Micheal [sic] Byerly in the 1850 Census for E. Huntingdon Twp: Micheal : 50 (b. ca 1800) Margaret : 45 (b. ca 1805) Catherine : 18 (b. ca 1832) Charles : 15 (b. ca 1835) Mary : 13 (b. ca 1837) Eliza [sic] : 10 (b. ca 1840) The Catherine I'm looking for was born ca. 1831, so this Catherine's birth date is close. Can anyone point me to more information about Michael and his family, especially Catherine? Thanks for your help, Brian Gross Notify Administrator about this message?
