You asked for links to Thomas Bye born about 1801 in Signet/Burford, Oxfordshire.
I have been doing a one-name study of Byes for about 20 years and have some information on this line.I hope I don't duplicate too much of what you already have but will start by giving what I know around the time of Thomas:
Thomas Bye was baptised 1 August 1802 in the parish of Burford with Fullbrook, Oxfordshire (son of Robert Bye from Signet). As you know he married Patience Nurdin in Burford, Oxfordshire on 31 August 1828.He was described as "a bachelor of this parish" and the witnesses were Job Bye and Ann Bye.He died in 1881 in Northleach Registration District (Gloucestershire) aged 79.Patience died in 1867 aged 64 again in Northleach Reg District.
According to my records Thomas had possibly six brothers and sisters, all baptised in Burford with Fullbrook:
John Bye baptised 4.11.1798son of Robert (from Signet)
Job Bye baptised 11.5.1804 son of Robert
Ann Bye baptised 11.5.1804 daughter of Robert
Harriet Bye baptised 7.9.1806 daughter of Robert
Charlotte Bye baptised 15.3.1810 daughter of Robert
An Ann Bye died of smallpox and was buried 17.10.1809 in Burford with Fullbrook. This is probably the Ann baptised in 1804.However it is possible that they had another Ann who married Charles Robinson on 18.6.1831 in Burford. The witnesses were Charlotte Bye and John Bye.
What do I know about Thomas Bye's brothers and sisters?
John Bye (1798 ) - probably married Ann Hunt on 17.11.1834 in Burford. He was a bachelor, she a widow.Charlotte Bye was a witness.
John and Ann appear to have had at least three children (again all baptised in Burford with Fullbrook):
Charlotte Bye bapt 20.1.1836 dau of John and Ann, labourer of Signet
Robert Bye bapt 14.3.1838 son of John and Ann, labourer of Signet
Ann Bye bapt 20.11.1839 dau of John and Ann, labourer of Signet
Of these Robert was buried (aged 8 months) on 15 October 1838 in Burford with Fullbrook.Charlotte could have married in 1859 in Shipston Reg Dist.
The family appeared on the 1841 Census in Signet.
Job Bye (1804) - married Mary Ann Mills 31.12 1825 in Burford. He was described as a bachelor of Signet.Sarah Bye was a witness.
Job and Mary Ann had at least 6 children:
John Bye bapt 26.8.1829 son of Job and Mary Ann, shepherd of Burford. He in turn married Emily Bye (yes that was her maiden name) on 8.11.1851 in Northleach, Gloucestershire.
Charles Bye born about 1831 in Burford. He married Mary Ann Tawney on 2.4.1853 in Burford. He died in 1893 aged 62.His children were:
John born 11.12.1856, married Sarah ? in 1879
Daniel born 1859, married Sarah ? in 1880, died in 1935
Emily born 27.1.1862.
Robert born 1864, bapt 14.7.1867, married in 1883, died 1911
Annie bapt 14.7.1867
William born 29.1.1867, died 1892.
Harriet Bye bapt 28.12.1836.
Sarah Bye born about 1840
Ann Bye born about 1842
Emily Bye born 1848
Harriet Bye (1806) - married Charles Lay in Burford on 13.10.1838.There were at least 5 'Lay' children - Elizabeth, Sarah, Charles, Amelia and Tom.
Before he marriage Harriet appears to have had 2 children - Emily Bye baptised 9.4.1826 in Burford, dau of Harriet (singlewoman), and Mary Bye born about 1831 (this Mary also appears to have had a child out of wedlock - Thomas Bye, born 1849).
Charlotte Bye (1810) - married William Mayo on 19.9.1835 in Burford. He was a bachelor of Marylebone.
As I indicated previously, there was also probably an Ann who married Charles Robinson in Burford on 18.6.1831.
To move on to the children of Thomas and Patience (possibly 8):
John 1830, probably died young
Robert 1831, married Joyce Tea 11.10.1851 at Northleach, had 8 children - William (1852), George (1853), Mary Ann (1854), Thomas (1856) who died 1863, Elizabeth (1858), Robert (1860), Albert John (1862) who died 1880, Tom (1864) who died 1943.Robert himself died in 1872.
William 1833, married Rachel Maria Shayler in Turkdean, Glos on 31.1.1857.
Job 1835, probably died young.
Thomas 1837.
Sarah 1842, married John Pinfield in Northleach on 8 .11.1869.
Emily 1843, married Joseph Ruck on 24.2.1868 in Northleach.(I don't know any more about Emily and would be very grateful if you could bring her up to date to show where you fit in.)
George 1846.
I can bring quite a lot of these lines further up to date and possibly go back two further generations from Thomas (1802).
I will leave it at this point for you to have a look at the information I have sent. Please let me know of any inaccuracies and any other information you require.
I look forward to hearing from you, including details of Emily's descendants.
By the way, at present I am not aware of any connection myself with this line.My ancestors came from the villages of Stetchworth and Dullingham in Cambridgeshire.
Best wishes
Mick Bye
