Not really - and it is part of one the biggest mysteries of the early Virginia Bybee families! A John Webb is involved in land settlement records of the Old Rappahannock County (now Essex County), Virginia in 1730. This was property "formerly granted to John Bibbey ... on Piscataway Creek." That John Bibby died before 1677 leaving a son William and a daughter Elizabeth Bush. Son William in turn died before Feb. 1687/8 when sister Elizabeth Bush was his sole heir. Were there two John Webbs involved - or were they the same man? If it was only one person this almost certainly means that Thomas of Goochland County had a connection with John of Old Rappahannock County. The chronology is especially intriguing! Son-in-law John Webb is mentioned in the 10 Dec. 1729 will of Thomas [will proved 17 Feb. 1729/30] - and in the 20 Jan. 1730[?/31] Essex County deed!!! WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN? CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT ON THIS CONUNDRUM?
Glade
