Jim, Robert Shannon Fields is my Great-Great Grandfather. I have in my possession a 14X20 inch photograph of Robert. I also have some information of the Civil War unit that he served in. He enlisted in Starkville, Ms in 1863, and was in Company H of the 11th Mississippi Calvary. Perrin's Calvary. He was paroled in Columbus, Ms on May 18, 1865. Josiah Byars is buried in Millport, Al in the Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church. Maybe we can be of benefit to each other. I look forward to hearing from you.
