I also am a descendant of Harrel and Jane (Gill) Byars. I've always wondered why James
and Jemima Cope's son and his wife were in the house hold of my Harrel Byars in the 1870 census.
Now look at this:

Note the Mina, the child of Andrew and Nancy; I know from other records of mine that Mina is a nickname for Jemima. Now I think there is a connection here. We are missing a link and I think we all need to keep hunting for the link.
I have always believed that either Nancy or Andrew Cope were close relation to our Harrel or they would not be in his household.
I can not find a marriage for Andrew Cope to Nancy - I have the Warren Co. marriages and can not find it so where did they get married; we need her maiden name.
Now I am trying to help another guy, who states that his father, W.D. Byars; was born in Byars, OK in 1934.
W. D. Byars son of Jeptha Byars, and Jeptha was son of Dee Byars and a Harrel Byars is suppose to be the father of Dee Byars.
IS GERTRUDE BYARS GAYLORD OF BYARS, OK ANY KNOWN RELATION TO THE ABOVE W. D. BYARS?
