Dear Juliane, We have a lot of Williams in the Byars of Marion Co, IL, but none of the dates really match with your William Douglas Byars dates. There is a slim possibility that he might have been a brother to my grandfather, Thomas Jefferson Byars (1864-1948)He had 2 brothers that I know about, Matthew and Mark. Their parents were Martin (1843-1927)and Malisa Wells. Martin's brother, William, married Malisa's sister, Virginia Wells. I don't have a list of their children, if any, so he could have been their son. There were 8 or 9 siblings so could have been from any of them. Sorry I can't be more help. Let me know if you find a connection.
Cheers, Rrrresearch
