It would be confusing even if you are in the Byars clan!!! There were 2 William Byars/Buis papers mixed in the folder. Below is an abstract, (I haven't seen the original). The date is 1800. So he could not be the father of Elisha. I also looked at this and still puzzled where he goes. --A true copy of the last will and Testament of William Buis, deceased compared this 2nd Sept. Anno Dom. 1800 and in the twenty fifth year of American Independence. Gab Bumpass, C.L.D. "In the name of God, Amen. This 5th day of February one Thousand Seven hundred ninety nine. I, Wm Buis of the county of Spartan'b, State of South Carolina being weak in body but of Sound Memory have made this my last will and testament. I wish to be decently buried, hoping God to receive my soul who gave it. I give and bequeath unto Sarah my wife all that 200 acres tract where I now live and mill also 300 acres joining the old Tract. Also 233 acres on the Green River Road all the above land I give unto my loving wife Sarah during her widdowhood and if she married then to be equally divided between all my sons or at her death if she don't marry or to be divided by my executors at the time of her death or by her consent. These sons which is to have their equal part of my land by name is John Buis, Abraham Buis, Jonathan Buis, Lijah Buis, Elisha Buis, Noah Buis, Enoch Buis and David Buis. Now be it remembered that Lijah Buis has had his part out of the Green River Road Tract which he is not to share with my other sons out of that Tract, 233 acres. Be it remembered that Jonathon Buis is to have his land whereon he now lives and Lijah is to have his part over the Spring Branch and his (corner?) appointed on this Side of the Branch. It is my desire that my wife have all the Stock on my premises except the Horse beast that my three youngest sons claims. It is my desire my wife have all the household Furniture as long as she remains my widow or till her Death. It is my desire that my Daughter Lidie be maintained out of my estate as long as she lives and to live with her mother. It is my Will that my grandson Jonathan Buis is to have five Shillings and no more to be paid him by my Executors which I appoint my son John Buis and Abraham Buis my Executors to this last will and Testament. In witness my hand and seal the date above written. His /s/ William X Buis SEAL mark John Nicholls Wm Thomson R. Thomson Notify Administrator about this message?
