Hi there Penny
I haven't been looking at the Byard list lately - only when someone replies to one of the messages I already posted but I decided to check today what other messages had been posted in the last year or so and spotted yours. Dont feel too discouraged that you didn't get a reply immediately. If you read through some of the back messages you will see that many of the 200+ mssages are from people who like you dont know too much but are asking questions! The best way to pick up information about your part of the Byard family is to look at the back messages on the list for subject headigns that are relevant. For example you could look at ones about whether Byard+the French Bayard, and ones about the Byard Family in the UK and Australia, and any to do with James Byard born in London in 1813 because he is your grandpa Leith's greatgrandpa!
If you get this message when you reply you could send a message giving the obituary info for Aunt Ena (Harvey) whose memorial service your grandma Byard would have been to on Friday - she was the last of the living grandchildren of the original James and Ann Byard who came sailing across the ocean to Tasmania at the time of the goldrushes.
When you reply you can just reply to this message or send a totally new message with a heading like 'Australian Byard Death' then more people will see it.
Hope all is going well with your shift to the Launceston College
Sheila
