Am searching for information on Stephen BUSBY b. 1796 in SC. m. Elizabeth "Betsy" SWINDLE on 9 Mar. 1823 in Tuscaloosa Co., AL. He d. in 1860 in Goodsprings, Walker Co., AL when he fell from a fodder stock on his farm.
Stephen apparently came to AL as a young, single man, met and married Betsy SWINDLE in AL and married. Betsy was also born in SC, probably in Laurens Co. They may have known each other in SC, but didn't marry until they reached AL. The original marriage record is still in the Tuscaloosa County Courthouse on page 20 of the marriage book.
Early biographies state that Stephen came from a prominent family, but I have been unable to find which one. He had a large farm in AL.
Parentage or sibling information on Stephen would be most appreciated. I can share much descendant information.
