John Buys Jr. b. 3-11-1768 in Trenton, Mercer, NJ was the son of Johannis 'John' Boice aka Buys Sr. (1735-1831) and Lena Annetje Marselis (c.1736 Greenbrook Farm, Somerset, NJ; d. 1779 in Ossabaw Georgia). John Sr. is bur. in the Sodus Village Old Cemetery Sodus,Wayne NY. Sr. was the gr.grandson of the historical figure, Jan Cornelise Buys Damen. John Jr. b.1768 d. 6-8-1838 in Varick, Seneca, NY and is buried in the Mt. Green Cem., Romulus,Seneca, NY. He married Sarah Brown prob. of Trenton NJ (2-14-1770 to 5-26-1847 also bur. Mt. Green Cem.). He erected "Buys Tavern" in 1813. Upon his brother Jacob's death, he adopted his children.
