Josiah and Jennie are shown in the 1885 Edmunds county, Dakota Territorial Census and in the 1900 Brown County, South Dakota census.

Two Pioneer Residents Pass Away - J.L. Buxton and Miss Matie Bunsness
Josiah L. Buxton is dead in this city at his home at 213 Fourth avenue northeast.Mr. Buxton was a little over 79 years of age and at his demise but was considered hale and hearty in spite of his years.he has been a residence of Aberdeen for the past three and a half years, though this state has been his home since 1882.for eight years preceding his residence here he conducted a hotel at Mansfield.
His wife survives him and he leaves a son, Harvey, residing in California, another son, Alva of this city and a daughter, Anna, at Danville, Ill.The time of the funeral has not been determined but will be announced later by Undertaker Huebel.

GRIM REAPER TAKES THANKSGIVING TOLL
Two deaths marred the usual serenity of Thanksgiving day in Aberdeen yesterday.Mrs. Jennie R. Buxton, 206 North Lincoln street, died yesterday afternoon at the age of 69 years.The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence, Rev. J. Rosser Jones officiating.Interment will be made at Riverside.
Jennie R. Robinson was born at Piqua, O., December 2, 1833.On December 25, 1859, she was married to J.L. Buxton at Pleasant Ridge, O., and in 1883 moved to Dakota territory, settling in Edmunds County. Fourteen years ago the family moved to Mansfield, and in 1906 came to Aberdeen, where Mr. Buxton died, February 14, 1910.
Two sons survive, J.A. Buxton of this city, and H.A. Buxton of Campbell, Cal.A sister, Miss Margaret Robinson of this city, and a brother, Andrew Robinson of Ohio, also survive.
