Rachel BUXTON m. Samuel MOODY - Falmouth, ME c1808

  of 979

Capt. Samuel MOODY a wealthy mariner of Falmouth, Cumberland Co., Maine married Rachel BUXTON c1808 prob. in Falmouth. Samuel was born Sept. 1784 poss. in Falmouth, Maine son of Benjamin Moody and Jael Underwood (this line SUPPOSEDLY descends down from the William 1 Moody line of Newbury, MA).
Rachel BUXTON was a daughter of James Buxton b. c1736 and Olive Loring of Falmouth. James Buxton was a son of James Buxton and Susannah Scales.
James and Susannah also had a son Cornelius Buxton b. c1733 who married Lydia Bucknam. Cornelius and Lydia had a son William Buxton born in Nor. Yarmouth, ME in 1763 who married 1st to Deborah FISHER and m. 2nd to Hannah PRINCE.
William Buxton, Jr. son of William and Lydia Jones BUXTON married Catherine LORING daug. of Ezekiel and Hannah Buxton LORING.
So you can see how these families really intermarried.
