I need help locating information regarding my elusive g-grandfather, William Gilbert Buxton. William was born in Texas and relocated to Louisiana some time later.
William married Laura Delphia Shirley about 1897. They had the following children:
Lawrence Andrew (my grandfather), Robert Estelle, Oreal Odell, Charles, Billie, Stella, Vivian and Jewel.
Arthur Clarence was his son from his first marriage. Arthur's son was William Ira Buxton.
My grandfather, Lawrence, seemed to have ties to Rapides Parish, LA. He married Mary Aloysia Hebert about 1923 and some of their children were born in Orange, Texas, so my Buxton's must have connections there.
Lawrence and Mary Aloysia's children were:
Opal, Beverley, Geraldine May, Ruby Clara, Lois, Marcelle, Delois Jannet and Jack Carroll.
Note: I located an Estelle Buxton, born in Texas, around this timeframe and suspect she may be related to William.
Any assistance would be wondeful.
