Looking for any information on my grandfather's ancestors. As far as I know they lived in LA, Rapides Parish. My grandfather's name was Tom Foley Buxton, dob Dec. 26, 1905 in Ponee, LA. He married my grandmother, Theresa Mosteit Nov. 9, 1926. He died Sept. 24, 1977 in Silsbee, TX.
He had brothers, Lloyd dob Dec. 14, 1900 and Claude dob Dec. 24, 1903.
I believe my grandfather's father was Sherrod Buxton who married Lucinda Doyle July 8, 1899 in Rapides Parish. I have always been told that Lucinda died at an early age, possibly giving birth to my grandfather. The boys were placed with different families and did not find each other until early adulthood.
I also believe Sherrod's father was Valentine Buxton born in 1849. Sherrod married Sophie Strother June 22, 1872 in Rapides Parish.
Any information on my family would be greatly appreciated.
