Edmund Buxton is also my 4th gf. (Edmund, Moses,Dr.Isaac Newton Buxton, Dr. William E., Raymond, Harold). I can't answer your questions other than to say that according to Harold D. Buxton who was in charge of the Bicentennial Buxton reunion in French Park, Cincinnati in 1988, Edmund was either born in New York City or in Yorkshire, England. His parents were not known. It is believed that his brother was Moses but nothing is known of him. Of Edmund's three sons I am through Moses. I have a copy of Edmund and Moses' wills. In addition to David, Moses had a son, William, and a daughter, Nancy, all three of whom went to Portland, OR in 1850. They went by ship to Panama, then by boat or wagon to the Pacific and on to Oregon. Nancy died enroute at sea. My grandfather used to talk about his uncle David Buxton, who had something to do with founding the waterworks in Portland. He went to see David about 1900. Sorry, I can't give you more information. If you know anything else about David, I'd appreciate knowing it. Thanks. I have information also about the 100th reunion of Edmund's landing party in Cincinnati, the home at Pleasant Ridge, ( newspaper stories of the centennial reunion, etc.)

Harold Buxton
