Winona,

I looked in my database and I have the following information on James Buxton and Catherine Doyle:

James was called James "Toby" Buxton and he was born in 1858. Catherine Doyle was born in Louisiana in 1853 and died May 26, 1909. She is buried in Goodhope Cemetery as Catherine Bloodsworth. She's the daughter of Solomon and Agnes "Aggy" (BUXTON) Doyle. James and Catherine's children were:

Shrilda "Shelly" (BUXTON) Vincent b. July 8, 1876, d. June 2, 1930 and married Benjamin Homer Vincent. She's buried at Goodhope Cemetery, Singer, LA in Beauregard Parish. Her husband is also buried at Goodhope. He was born May 10, 1852 and died June 18, 1926. His original name was Pierre Omar and he changed it to Benjamin Homer. His father is Pierre Onezime and his mother is Marguerite Urasie (BERTRAND). Shrilda was his second wife. His first wife was Mary Gilland. Shrilda and Homer's children, that I know of are: Clementine (VINCENT) DRAKE, b. December 9, 1894, d. Sept. 21, 1965. Her husband was Eli Drake, b. march 22, 1888, d. Aug. 23, 1944. He's buried next to her at Goodhope Cemetery in Singer, LA . Eli is the son of Eria Elizabeth (ARNOLD) Drake, but I do not know who his father was. Eria shows up again in the cemetery listing as also being married to John Adam McLeod . She's buried next to him at Goodhope. He's her second husband and the Drake person her first. No one knows his first name. Sara Wisby was John McLeod's first wife. Eli and Clementine had some children: Lelon Drake, b. Sept. 15, 1914, d. June 30, 1951 and is buried at Goodhope. Vannie (DRAKE) Johnson; it appears that she was buried with her baby. The tombstone reads: Vannie Johnson and Baby-Marla Jean, b. 1920, d, 1956. I'm gathering she died in child brith. Anderson Vincent, b. July 30, 1896, d. July 7, 1956 and is at Goodhope. His wife was Mandy. Don't know her maiden name. She was b. Aug. 19, 1902, d. March 21, 1974. Anderson was in the military, MM-La Pvt 5 Inf 17 Div WWI

Alonzo BUXTON, b. abt. 1879 and married Cora CLARK.

Hester Amanda (BUXTON) Perkins. She married William Perkins. No record of their burials, but they have a child buried at Goodhope in Singer: Merle Perkins, b. July 13, 1904, d. June 2, 1978. Merle's wife was Nora Ellen Smith. She's buried at Goodhope, b. Nov. 7, 1901, d. Aug. 30, 1983. She's the daughter of Henry S. and Matilda (ASHWORTH) Smith. Henry and Matilda have other children buried at Goodhope, not to mention they are as well. Merle and Nora have children buried there as well.

Lorenza BUXTON, b. July 24, 1879, d. February 25, 1935 and is buried at Goodhope in SInger.

Catherine Doyle had three husbands.

1. James "Toby" Buxton
2. Isiah Ashworth
3. P. Oliver Bloodsworth

P. Oliver Bloodsworth is buried next to her at Goodhope. b. 1861, d. 1952. So she died as a Bloodsworth and not a BUXTON.

Hope this helps,
Claudia
