I am looking for information on DeLafayette Button, my 3rd great-grandfather. He died May, 10 1865 from a gunshot wound suffered during the civil war and was buried in Sample Cemetery near Morris. Il. He married Catherine Hane and had six children, but I only have the name of one daughter, Martha Amelia Button.
DeLayfayette's father was Elijah Button believed to be born in Ohio, perhaps Painsville. He had 13 children. DeLayfayette and Dewitt Clinton Button were twins. They had another brother, Morgan. I do not know the names of the other ten children.
I would be very gratful for any information.
