William Button appears in the untraced Button Family group in The Button Families of America book. It says he died May 3, 1869. He married 1st Louisa ____ and 2nd Oct.7, 1865 to Frances Graveline b July 11, 1844 died Dec 31, 1909. She married 2nd George Perring.
It goes on to list OK b Feb 14, 1868 and his son Herbert James born Dec 13, 1908 at Ypsilanti, MI, who married Opal Vivian Saltz Mar.17., 1928 and lists their 6 children.
We have DNA from two different Button lines that lived within 80 miles of Ypsilanti, MI, including mine.
I am the administrator of the Button DNA project and we have DNA from 16 Buttons and know the ancestry of 8 of them. If you can find a male Button in this line to take the test (cost $100 to $200 depending on the test), you may be able to match his line up with a Button line that has already been tested. Four Button tested now know their Button line through DNA testing but have not found the exact connection yet.
