Cathy
I have collected Buttles info in NY from Tioga County. Henry Buttles b 1824 was a male nurse in the Civil War and lived in Lyndon, NY for a while. He had 3 wives: I am through the Phydiall Sykes(Sikes) line. Henry died around 1890 in Candor/Gainsveille NY area. Send me an email and I will send you all I have. Have you ever run across Henry Buttles? According to his death record his mother was Olive..remarried to Phineas Case. Both are buried in Franklenville, NY. I just found out that Olive's maiden name was Waters.
Barbara
