I found Jacob Bush in 1880 Census, age 65 living with wife Eunice F. age 58, and daughter Edith A Butterfield, age 19 in Brookline VT. Now, this might not be my Jacob, but the age and location are correct... and he seems to be the only Jacob Bush around them there parts... he d:1891... my problem is that his (1st?) wife SARAH d. 1873... he might have remarried... no problem so far, but why is his daughters name BUTTERFIELD, and how could she be 19 if his (1st?) wife Sarah only passed 7 years earlier? I found an Edith A Butterfield b:1860 (this would make her the right age to be my Edith) daughter of Frederick P. Butterfield and Clarinda (Severy) in Wilton, ME, and her parents both show up as still living in Wilton, ME in the same 1880 census. Not likely that my Jacob adopted her if her parents were still living... I guess I need to search marriage records to try and determine who this Eunice is... and that's easy enough I suppose, but who is Edith? and why is she listed as daughter? mistake perhaps? Maybe Edith is somehow related to Eunice? Any help greatly appreciated! Notify Administrator about this message?
