1st let me say I'm not sure about this..additional research is needed. My line is from John Butt. While researching, it had always bothered me why no other researcher of this line had anything on one of his sons, William G. Lafayette Butt. While going through some notes from the Union County Heritage Book, I noticed an entry for W.G.L. Butt and a picture of his headstone. That was all his line had on him. The bith date for W.G.L. Butt & William Gordon Layfette Butt were the same. I found him living in Fannin County Georgia which, as you probably know, was at one time a part of Union County Georgia.
