SUBJECT
This document concerns the bankruptcy of Edward butt who is indebted to Thomas Webb the elder and Thomas Webb the younger, bankers of Ledbury, to the sum of £100 and upwards. Messrs. Poole, Homes and Gregg have been appointed as Commissioners to sort things out. These commissioners " for the better preserving of the estate of Edward Butt " have appointed Herbert Edy as " assignee of the estate and effects of the said Edward Butt ".
However, at a meeting of creditors owed £10 or upwards, held at the Feathers Inn in Ledbury, Timothy Spencer was elected as assignee. The object of this Indenture is to transfer that function from Herbert Edy to Timothy Spencer.
