Man there isn't much chatter on this family anymore! Where all my fellow researchers be at??

To even further deconstruct, I don't know of any evidence to support that William and Mary had sons named Joshua or John. To my knowledge, the only Johns in the area at the time were William's (probable) brother John and his son john Jr., at least according to the tax and tithable records. There were two Joshuas, or three depending upon the year. Joshua Butler (son of Joshua and Grace) is still there, as is his son Joshua Jr. in the early records. Later, Joseph and Nancy (Embry) Butler's son Joshua turns up as an adult before he moved along with his father and family to Battle Run.

As always, I include the caveat that I could be wrong, but that's the family structure as I see it. Wm and Mary give property to almost all their children in 1799/1800 with the exception of Spencer, and we know that he belongs because he's referred to as Armistead's brother in a Culpeper deed. No John or Joshua.
