I had always found that Lamira Jane Oliver (Harrison Oliver and Hannah Martin's daughter) died in 1858, however, there seems to be some census out there from 1860 and 1870 with her married to George H. Allen and 5 children The children are: George H. Allen born 1855 in UT Joseph Willard Allen born 1857 in UT W. Heber Allen born 1858 in UT Lamira J Allen born in 1860 in UT Hannah Allen born in 1862 in UT In the 1860 census for Weber County UT (p. 124) it has George H. Allen as 50 years old born in 1810 in England and Lamira Jane as 23, however, has her from Ohio when in actuality she is from Illinois. As of the 1870 for Weber County UT (p. 11) census George isn't listed anymore and Lamira is listed as Louise, however, if you enhance the font it could be Lamira. So now I'm confused. I'm now wondering if George H Allen Jr, Joseph Willard Allen, or W. Heber Allen is the father of my great grandfather George Edward Allen. Now I've found Joseph W. Allen in Idaho and Wyoming with his wife till old age and he had a son George, but different middle initial and different year of birth than 1881. By the way, my great grandfather George Edward Allen was born January 9, 1881 in California. I can't seem to locate the other two, George H Allen or W. Heber Allen in any addt'l census. Especially any with wives and children. As of the 1900 census for Los Angeles County Rebecca/Rachel Butler Oliver (spelled in the census Olever, Harrison Oliver's second wife) is living with two grandchildren. Joseph Reeder (Hannah Oliver Reeder's son) and George Edward Allen. I am now assuming that the George must be her great grandson (via Hannah Martin Oliver). So I guess it would be her step-Great-Grandson. I can then find George Edward again in 1910 when he is married to Birdie Moore Allen who is my great grandmother. She died 5 months after my last Aunt was born in 1918. In 1910 he is listed as Geo E or G.C. Allen, can't remember which right off the top of my head with Julia A, and Asy (supposed to be Acie for Adrian Stewart Conn) his step son. We then find George Edward in 1920 living with Charles F. Oliver (son of Harrison and Rebecca) and his wife Elizabeth. He is then living with Juliette A (My grandmother who in her adult life changed her name to Ruth), Mildred Bernice, Thelma Isabelle and Georgia Lee (all daughters). At this time, Ace is out of the home. In 1930 this is where it turns strange again. Ruth is now married to my grandfather John Garfield McLean and they are living with his parents and 12 siblings. Mildred is now married to a Purkey with their two sons), Thelma has been institutionalized at Pacific Colony for the mentally unstable (15 yrs old) and Georgia Lee is living with a family by the last name of Boyer. We actually have a picture of her at 12 yrs old standing in front of the Boyers house. George Edward is nowhere to be found though, in fact the institution where Thelma Isabelle is has been looking for him regarding payment of her stay there to no avail. Now, I then have George Edwards death certificate, he died April 28, 1938 in Los Angeles California. Long story, sorry, but I'm really into this stuff and just want to fit all the pieces together. If only the 1890 census existed somewhere, I know I'd have all the answers from both sides of my great grandparents. So, back to Lamira, is it possible she didn't actually pass away in 1858 like the reports show? Notify Administrator about this message?
