My home e-mail is 4we4butlerz@earthlink.net. I am currently in the process of inputting the family information into my Family Tree Maker. There is far too much information to put here on the Butler lines. Let me know if you have MS Office and the version. I have quite a bit of the information in Excel and Word 2003. I've been working with another family researcher on these lines and she has provided an enoromous amount of information. One of our biggest problems has been documentation on Thomas, the only document we have to go on so far is his will which was probated in 1838. Need to go to central TN, VA etc... to get hard documentation. Much of my research connects these lines back to the Revolutionary War. It appears that most of the Butlers, Ensey's, Duboise/Dubose, Duncan's and Nelson's all fought in the Southern Campaigns in North & South Carolina. Quite a bit of them show up on the rosters for Francis Marion. The Duboise/Dubose lines appear to go back as far as the 12th Century. A lot of researchers have already worked this family line as well. The problem with the Butler line is the common first names with a common last name; there are too many Thomas Butler's and sorting them has been a chore. Thanks for responding.
