This leads me to think that Martin possibly grew up around Edgefield and had some link to Stanmore Butler but so far I have been unable to establish a link. I do not know the parents of Martin or Elizabeth. Can anyone help? It is possible that there is a connection among the Butlers, Carrs, and Pittses of that era.
