Francis Marion Butler (Nicknamed Frank) and his sister Mary Catherine Butler (Nicknamed Kate), neither married according to family records.
1.
Francis Butler Heuter, b. 25 Nov. 1892, d. 19 Nov. 1901, wasa son of Joseph Francis Hueter and Adelia nee Butler Hueter.
2.
Mary Catherine Butler was a sister to "Frank" Butler
Mary Catherine Butler went to Spokane, Washington with her unmarried brother Frank probably after their Mother died in 1891.They invested in real estate there and made quite a bit of money. Frank died in 1900 and Mary Kate came back to Staunton to live. Peter Long Camp went to settle the estate and there was so much land it took him a year there to sell the contents.
Kate was known as being an eccentric lady, she brought her gold back from Washington and buried it on the old Camp Farm, where it stayed until her death in 1925. They dug Kates' stash up and took it to the bank, there was $39,000 of gold coins when Newt counted it.
The money was divided between the nieces and nephews and many bought land with their shares of Aunt Kates' money.
She was very miserly in her later years, often refusing to buy groceries, and as before, did not trust banks at all.
She was a very saavy business woman, but very very eccentric. Her brother helped her compete in a mans' world, by being her front person to deal with the men at the various timber companies.
Mary Catherine was never married, but raised her niece, Mary Katherine Bond ("Katie")
