Hi Tony,

I am a descendant of the William Butler who was in the
Pendleton Dist., SC at the time mentioned, but he may
not have been there until 1778--I have not nailed that
down as an absoulte, but it is probable he was born
abt. 1759, give or take three years. He did marry
Elizabeth Hembree. Their chidlren were William Butler, Jr., James Butler, Hosea Butler, Absolem Butler (mine),
Hezekiah Butler, Thomsa Butler, Elijah Butler, John
Butler, and Benjamin Butler (the order is probably
off after Hezekiah as I am doing this off the top
of my head). Known daughters were Sally (Sarah)
Butler Oliver and Malinda Butler Mullinax. There
was another daughter who either died or was the
product of a first wife as she was not listed by
name in a later probate record.

I haven't done any GenForum postings for over a
year, maybe more. I haven't had time as I am
compiling a book on this family and descendants.
