Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I'm probably taking up your time, but I really appreciate it. I've always been fascinated with DNA, so I need to read about it, especially with regard to genealogy. Thanks for explaining Thomas Pincerna (spe?). All the research I've read discussed only Walter, so Thomas is new to me and interesting. I'll look for more on him, too, although right now, I'd just like to learn more about my American family. So 2 or 3 markers off might show a familial connection, but it also might mean there's no connection? On the online site, my great-uncle's DNA results (M-0060) seems to compare closest to M-0043 and M-0045. Those two are only 2 markers off from each other, but my uncle's is three off. Well, I'll just have to read all the paperwork about the markers so that I'll understand why they're so close in number and all begin with 12-24-14. I see why a larger test would help. But like you inferred, until more Butlers submit their own DNA tests and we have more choices to compare, I guess I'll just have to be patient with what we know so far. Nevertheless, I sure hope a descendant of Nicholas Butler will submit a test soon. My curiosity would then be quelled. (Is that the right word?) Thanks! Notify Administrator about this message?
