This is an older post, so I hope you are still researching your family. I am not sure, since Butera's are my husband's family, however, his great grandfather, Joseph Butera came to the United States from Sicily through New Orleans before 1900. He lived in St. Martinsville, Louisiana until he relocated to Port Arthur, Texas. He was a shoemaker.
Bisaquina (sp) is a name I have heard my father-in-law say many times.
I have a picture of him and his wife. They had many children.
