I was so excited when I read the names James Bute and Sara House on teh internet after weeks of looking for my Bute family!!!

I'll start with what I know of my connection, (I'm a little sketchy, so I will start with my parents).

John Burton Bute M. Judy Ellen James
John Burton had a brother, James Burton Bute IV and a sister, Martha Burton Bute
Thier parents: John Bute (1916) and Martha Burton
After that I am unclear, but I think you have near enough info to fill in.

The paint company was sold by my uncle, James Burton Bute (he was the middle child, John Bute was the oldest) in the 1980's. My Grandfather owned it before my uncle and his father before him and James House Bute before that (I belive).

My grandfather has a portratit of the man who started the paint comany (at least I think that is who he is) I will get a digital photo of it and mail it to you in March (I will be in Houston at that time I live in Austin, Texas).

All of my family on that side is burried in Glenwood (including my uncle who was killed in 1992), I can probably dig up that info too if you dont have it yet.

If you have more info about the Scottish conection please share!! All the Bute males (my brothers included) love to think of themselves as Scottish, but we have little information about the relatives past James and Sara.

I am so thrilled I found you. I will call my Grandfather to night and get back in touch.

MJ Bute
