Hi Alice. Im researching my grandmothers side of the family. Her name was tommie lee boutcher/boucher and butcher. I found the name spelled 3 different ways. The first was boucher in east tennessee 1860 census, the second on her marriage license was boutcher and the 4rd was on a school census record butcher.
