Thomas Butcher was baptized in 1623 in St. Bololph Church,
Oldgate Parish, London, son of Thomas Butcher and wife, Joan.
Thomas Butcher Jr.(Gent) died in 1646 in Wadhurst, Sussex,
without children and names his wife, Mary, as full Executrix of his estate which he left to his sister, Margaret, wife of Capt. Swanne, and nieces and nephews.
He married, Mary Dyne, born in 1624 in Ashford, Kent,
on 23 May 1639 in Frant Church, Sussex. She was a daughter of John Dyne who wrote his Will on 10 April 1646,and probated on 20 May 1646 in Ashford, Kent, and
his first wife,.... He was buried in Ashford, Bethersden
Parish, Kent, on 5 May 1646 (Parish Records) In his Will

Mary was named by her husband, Thomas Butcher, Gent.,to
be the full Administrator. She married 2nd, Henry Dyke, in 1647 and Henry becomes co-Administrator of the Butcher estate. (No Marriage Licenses were issued in Sussex County, England, 1649-1660 as there were no bishops to issue them due to Oliver Cromwell "firing them". Proof of
Mary and Henry Dykes' marriage is the Administation of the
Thomas Butcher, Gent, estate in Canterbury Preogative Court.)
Mary died before November 1651 and Henry Dyke is appointed
full Administrator of the Butcher Estate in November 1651
by the Canterbury Preogative Court, London.
In 1643, Thomas and Mary Butcher, and his brother, William
Butcher, came to Virginia for a visit. Mary came on a different ship and William identified her at Jamestown.
Their sister, Margaret Butcher, married Capt. Swanne and they remained in Virginia. Thomas, William, and Mary, returned to England.
