Butcher Family - Essex
Posted by: Matthew Daniels (ID *****2031) Date: November 30, 2008 at 05:49:55
  of 1863

I'm trying to trace my Butcher ancestors, who lived in and around Little Clacton, Frinton on Sea and other parts of north east Essex. My earliest ancestor to date is John Butcher, who was born in Langenhoe around 1796. He was a farmer the majority of his life, farming 60 acres around the area and living at Shelley Lodge with his wife Mary. He had 4 children that i have found - Charlotte, John (b. around 1828), Susannah & Elizabeth -all were born in Great Holland.

I believe John Senior may have had a brother or close relative called George - i don't have a definite connection but there was a George Butcher born around a similar time in Langenhoe.

Any help much appreciated

Regards

Matt
