My grandfather, John Butcher, settled in Brown Co. Nebraska in the late 1800s, having come over from Taunton, England, in Wiltshire. He later lived in Valley, Nebraska, after marrying Margarethe Oster of Valley. He served in the Spanish-American War. I'm looking for any information on John Butcher's ancestors in England. I believe his father, Thomas Butcher, was from Swindon -- also in Wiltshire, England, but I have nothing further back than that. Thank you. -- Dorothy S.
