Levi Preston "Doc" Long (my great grandfather) was born to John Long Jr and Sarah Jane Butcher. They were from Granger County Tennessee. They had 12 Children. He married Mary Elizabeth Wyatt (his brother Patrick Henry Long married her sister Dessie Ann Wyatt). They moved to Missouri in 1883 I believe in Richmond Township near Rocky Comfort Missouri.There is also record of them living around Stella (Newton County Missouri) My Grandfather wrote that a MR Oscar Skaggs (the son of Samuel Skaggs and Nancy Long - a sister to Levi) two of the long brothers married Butchers. He went on to state that this part of the country is well peopled with Butchers and Longs and that they are people of excellent reputation.
