Hi, J.C.! George I was father of George II, who m. Anne Williams, and not Mary Colyer or Collier. Among other children, George II had George III and Edward (not Edward Bennet Bussey, just Edward). George III m. Mary Collier and took his family and other relatives south , ending up in GA. From there his descendants branched out through AL into TX.
Brother Edward m. Martha Evans and stayed in MD, as did many other Bussey relatives and descendants. I have wills of Edward Bennet Bussey and Jesse Bussey, neither of which can be direct ancestors of our Edward who m. Ruth Colegate and d. in Revol. War. I'm not sure WHO was Edward Bennet B's father. As for Jesse, he probably was brother of Edward who m. Mary __, and had Rennnis and Mary who m. a Jarrett, and Edward who m. Ruth Colegate. I have his will too. He really had it in for dau. Mary James' husband; all through the will he kept harping back to him. Must've been a grouchy old guy! He gave everybody oodles of things, like hundreds of dollars and acreages and houses, etc., but cut off poor Ruth with a cow and a calf. Guess he didn't like her or her kids?? In my line I have about six generations of Edwards as the father, and each generation had siblings who also named their sons Edward and Jesse. One thing to wonder about is: where did the name Jesse first enter the picture, and whose namesake was he? BTW, even my grparents named their sons with middle names of Edward and Jesse. I think it ended there.
